Team
Dan Whaite is the Founder and CEO at Gively. Dan developed the core ideas with a team at the Harvard Kennedy School in the fall of 2010. Prior to Gively, he spent 14 years in enterprise software and large-scale web consulting (PTC, Endeca, Ironworks). His roles included technology, sales, partnerships, and business leadership. Dan has a BS from Virginia Tech and an MPA from Harvard University - and gets excited about new innovation in the charitable space.
Sonali Sharma is the Co-Founder and VP of Marketing at Gively. Sonali helped shape the business at the Harvard Kennedy School in the fall of 2010. Prior to Gively, she spent over 10 years in brand consulting, marketing, and account management in consumer goods and technology industries (Interbrand, Procter & Gamble, Quadrem). Sonali has a BBA and MBA in Marketing and is currently completing her MPA from Harvard University. She truly believes that brands have the power to change the world.
Israel Keys is the Co-Founder and CTO at Gively. Israel joined in the spring of 2011 to launch the business and build the core platform. A coffee geek from Australia, Israel combines a background in software engineering and international aid and development. Whether it is jumping into source code or working with rural African communities, Israel loves building things that will make difference in the world.
Nat Budin is the Lead Developer at Gively. Nat joined Gively in the summer of 2011 to architect and develop the Gively infrastructure. Prior to Gively, he worked as an engineering jack-of-all-trades at companies including Novell, Iron Mountain, and DataSynapse. In his spare time, Nat plays guitar and sings with a folk band.
Jessica Dosch is the VP of Business Development at Gively. Jessica brings 16 years of experience across financial, foundation, business, and social enterprise to Gively. Most recently, she led a multinational business and consulted for early-stage startups. She has a BA/MA from the University of Oxford and is most passionate about doing well by doing good.

Clay Shirky is an adjunct professor in New York University’s graduate Interactive Telecommunications Program and a Fellow at the Berkman Center for Internet and Society. He’s a leading voice on the social and economic impact of internet technologies. He’s the author of Here Comes Everybody, about the power of crowds, and Cognitive Surplus: Creativity and Generosity in a Connected Age. He has consulted with a variety of groups working on network design, including Nokia, the BBC, Newscorp, Microsoft, BP, Global Business Network, the Library of Congress, the U.S. Navy, the Libyan government, and Lego®.
Ziba Cranmer is VP of cause branding at Cone Communications with 15+ years of experience in international development and corporate responsibility. Experience includes 7+ years as part of Nike’s Sustainable Business & Innovation team based in Oregon and Europe focused on issues as diverse as social entrepreneurship in emerging markets, CR Reporting and stakeholder engagement, global community investment and digital philanthropy operations.
David J. Vidal is global corporate citizenship research director at The Conference Board. As director of The Conference Board Center for Corporate Citizenship & Sustainability, he is responsible for research and program development in corporate citizenship and sustainability, corporate responsibility, corporate philanthropy, and community engagement. David has an AB degree in romance languages and literature from Princeton University and an MBA from Columbia University. He is a member of the Council on Foreign Relations, a Fulbright Scholar, and a White House Fellow.
Bradley K. Googins is a Professor in Organizational Studies at the Boston College’s Carroll School of Management and served as the Executive Director of the Boston College Center for Corporate Citizenship from 1997- 2009, a research and education center with over 300 corporate members that serves as a leading voice in the U.S. on the role of business in society. He has authored dozens of books, monographs, and articles on corporate issues, most recently Beyond Good Company: Next Generation Corporate Citizenship, published by Palgrave in December 2007.
